Die Folge richtet den Blick zugleich auf Alternativen zu proprietären Plattformen und einseitigen technologischen Abhängigkeiten, etwa auf Open-Source-Lösungen, offene Dateiformate und Open Educational Resources. Sie zeigt, dass Veränderung zwar kein leichter, aber ein gangbarer Weg ist. Vorgestellt werden unter anderem Meta-Plattformen, die Schulen bei der Auswahl geeigneter Tools unterstützen können, ebenso wie Communities von Lehrkräften, die sich gegenseitig in Fragen des Digitalen im Unterricht und in der Schulentwicklung begleiten.

Darüber hinaus geht es um weitere zentrale Themen einer nachhaltigen Digitalisierung an Schulen, etwa um tragfähige IT-Strukturen, Fortbildungen und Medienkonzepte als Grundlage zukunftsfähiger Schulentwicklung. Deutlich wird: Digitale Bildung braucht mehr als technische Ausstattung – sie braucht Orientierung, Unterstützung und langfristig tragfähige Konzepte.

Digitalität wird hier strategisch genutzt, um kooperative Arbeitsweisen zu stärken und einen kulturellen Wandel anzustoßen, in dem Ko-Kreation eine zentrale Rolle spielt – im Unterricht ebenso wie in der Schulentwicklung. Die Folge macht deutlich, dass Zusammenarbeit eine Voraussetzung für gelingende Schulentwicklung ist. Es geht um fächerübergreifendes Arbeiten, gemeinsame Unterrichtsplanung und Lernformen, die mehr Austausch, Beteiligung und gemeinsames Gestalten ermöglichen. Dadurch verändern sich nicht nur die Lernprozesse der Schüler:innen, sondern auch das professionelle Selbstverständnis von Lehrkräften.

Zugleich wird Schule als gemeinschaftlicher Entwicklungsraum sichtbar, an dem viele beteiligt sind: Lehrkräfte, Schüler:innen, Eltern und das lokale Netzwerk. Die Folge fragt danach, wie Verantwortung geteilt, Beteiligung ermöglicht und Entwicklung offen gestaltet werden kann. Formate wie der sogenannte ‚Rote Salon‘ zeigen, wie solche Prozesse konkret umgesetzt werden können.

Zum Abschluss formuliert Birgit Spies ein klares Plädoyer: Schulen sollten Digitalisierung vom Menschen her denken und Schüler:innen als aktive Mitgestaltende ernst nehmen, während politische Entscheidungsträger:innen stärker auf die Bedürfnisse vor Ort hören sollten. Ziel ist eine Schule, die ein sicherer Lern- und Begegnungsort bleibt und jungen Menschen Orientierung in einer komplexen, digitalisierten Lebenswelt bietet.

Im Gespräch geht es um die Auswirkungen von KI, Social Media, toxischen Online-Trends und digitaler Beschleunigung auf Kinder und Jugendliche. Christine Achenbach-Carret erklärt, warum Schule heute Orientierung geben, Selbstwirksamkeit fördern und demokratische Handlungskompetenzen stärken muss, ohne dabei mit immer neuen gesellschaftlichen Aufgaben überfrachtet zu werden.

Die Folge macht deutlich, dass digitale Bildung mehr bedeutet als Technik: Es geht um Haltungsfragen, um den Schutz junger Menschen, um gerechte Teilhabe und um die Aufgabe von Schule, in einer komplexen, von Transformation geprägten Gegenwart tragfähige Lern- und Lebensräume zu schaffen.

We begin with a reflection on the freedom of movement that characterizes the digital space: our plural and dynamic identities unfold day by day, click by click, in a culturally hybrid space where the local becomes increasingly less relevant and defining. However, even in the digital space we are confronted with limits: picking up the discussion from the first episode, we examine key factors that frame our (inter)actions online. While some of these apply to everyone, such as algorithms, others manifest themselves in varying ways: introducing a multi-dimensional understanding of the 'digital divide', we give hints about how the quality of postdigital life differs between people. This difference is rooted in social inequalities which, we argue, are both reproduced and actively reinforced in the digital space, not least through the discourses that emerge in anti-pluralist filter bubbles, which gain power by offering simplistic explanations for complex phenomena. After describing the mechanism we have observed in social media, we reflect on the importance of intercultural competence in dealing constructively with unfamiliarity and uncertainty. After presenting a new understanding of intercultural competence, we conclude the podcast with a call to rethink the internet as a whole.
