#196 Central Europe’s composites momentum: Kraków 2026 and the people advancing it
13.01.2026 5 min Staffel 5 Episode 154
Zusammenfassung & Show Notes
We’re keeping the spotlight on Central Europe’s composites community. In a short on‑site conversation at JEC Forum Central Europe in Kraków, Jacek Kasz—who leads the Center for Technology Transfer at Politechnika Krakowska (Cracow University of Technology)—points to a compelling 2026 horizon: the KOMPOZYT-EXPO®® will return to EXPO Kraków on 7–8 October 2026, and a Drone Security EXPO will run in parallel, showcasing live BVLOS flights and counter‑UAS demonstrations.
What stands out in Jacek’s remarks is the research depth behind Kraków’s ecosystem—and the people driving it:
• Prof. Joanna Ortyl (CUT) brings world‑class photochemistry to 3D printing and photopolymerization, bridging lab innovation with industry via photoinitiator spinoffs.
• Prof. Agnieszka Sobczak‑Kupiec (PK) connects materials engineering with regenerative medicine, leading multi‑partner projects like BiLaTex on laser‑textured Ti/HAp implants.
• Prof. Bozena Tyliszczak (PK) advances biomaterials and drug‑delivery systems, with a prolific portfolio and broad international collaborations.
• Prof. Krzysztof Pielichowski (CUT) is a reference in polymer thermal analysis, phase‑change materials, and nanocomposites, shaping both academic and industrial practice.
• KOMPOZYT‑EXPO® (7–8 Oct 2026) remains the region’s largest composites platform—materials, processes, applications—serving buyers and suppliers across mobility, energy and construction. Read More: kompozyt-expo.pl
• DRONE SECURITY EXPO (7–8 Oct 2026) adds an engineering‑heavy layer:
BVLOS trials, neutralization simulations, and expert dialogues with regulators, military, police, and industry—relevant for dual‑use composite structures and UAS airframes, too. Read more: dronesecurityexpo.pl
And before that, in March—get ready for the world stage:
🇵🇱 Poland will debut its very own national Pavilion at JEC World 2026, which takes place in Paris from 10–12 March 2026. This marks a major milestone for Polish composites, and you can meet them at Booth 5G142 (Hall 5)

So we are going strong
on JEC Forum Central Europe 2025.
Dear community, Composites Lounge
members, JEC Forum suppliers and buyers.
I have now with me Jacek Kasz
and we will be talking
about next year's events and in particular
there will be a composite expo together
with a drone show.
And I would like to be filled in
by Jacek Kasz about this opportunity.
Jacek, thank you very much
for being part of my show here in Krakow.
-This is my pleasure.
I am Jacek Kasz
and I'm running
the
center for Technology Transfer
at Polytechnical Krakowski,
which is the Krakow University
of Technology.
We are active in the area of composites
and polymers.
We have very strong researchers
in this area.
I would like to mention several names.
Professor Agnieszka Sobczak-Kupiec,
Professor Bozena Tyliszczak,
Professor Joanna Ortyl,
Professor Krzysztof Pielichowski,
the guru of polymers in Poland
and Central Europe.
Today we're here at the JEC Congress
in Krakow, Poland,
and we are very happy and excited
to be selected by JEC to be the site
for the Central European events.
As we are gathering today,
we are also thinking about the future.
The future meeting
is going to be Composites
fair and exhibition, and this will differ
from this year's events in the sense
that we'll also include
the military applications,
which is dual use
and also will have the focus
on 3D printing.
With that, we are very excited
because these are the technologies
we are developing at our university,
and it's our pleasure
to be the part of this community
as we are the part of the Polish cluster
of composite technologies.
So I wish JEC much success here in Krakow
2025 and the Targi
w Krakowie, Fair
and exhibition Kompozyt Expo 2026
(https://kompozyt-expo.pl/),
in Krakow next year. Thank you.
