International Composites Summit Interview with Gemma Smith of Fluency and David Bailey FRAeS Ph.D Composites UK - Trade Association

In this interview Ilkay Özkisaoglu, Co-Founder of the Composites Lounge talks to Gemma Smith, CEO of Fluency the organizer of the International Composites Summit (ICS) and David Bailey, CEO of Composites UK.

Questions revolve primarily around this fairly new exhibition format that focusses on composites (C/FRPs) as follows:

-What is the Mission of ICS?
-Why do you focus on composites?
-What do exhibitors and visitors appreciate particularly on the ICS format?
-Assuming we have left the pandemy behind us, what plans do you have for future editions of ICS?

Another aspect of the video is the condition and outlook of the UK composites market from the lens of Composites UK - Trade Association. Hence, my questions to David:

-When was CUK extablished, how many members do you have and what are typical outlets/working groups etc?
-What role do composites play in the UK in regards to CO2 emission reduction?
-Are there any governmental initiatives?
-Do you allow international companies to become a member and if so, what would be a good first step to start this process?
