OpenSource software is often more accessible than the commercial counter parts. Why the future of accessiblity lays in open source.

An interesting fact is seldom mentioned: millions of hours of work by developers and other volunteers go into OpenSource systems such as Linux, but also many CMS. The web is essentially based on OpenSource technologies. Has anyone ever wondered why there is no viable commercial content management system? Why should there be, because Typo3, WordPress, Joomla, Drupal and countless smaller systems can do much better. Above all, they have one thing in advance: accessibility. What I have not seen in commercial systems like Magnolia, Sitecore or the Government Sitebuilder. But also in other aspects such as user-friendliness or suitability for everyday use, commercial systems are not convincing.
