Laura is Vice Chair of the Global Network for Tobacco free Healthcare Services (GNTH )

The GLOBAL NETWORK FOR TOBACCO FREE HEALTHCARE SERVICES (GNTH), commonly called the Global Network, is an independent, international, non-profit association that was formed to facilitate action on tobacco within healthcare services. It commenced as a European funded project (European Network of Smokefree Healthcare Services - ENSH in 1999), and has since expanded to involve healthcare services globally from 2009.The organisation was registered initially under Belgian law (as ENSH-Global) and reconstituted as the Global Network (GNTH) under Swiss law in 2015. The Global Network represents healthcare services that are committed to implementing tobacco-free policies with the aim of delivering safe quality care in relation to tobacco for every service user, every time and everywhere.

The Global Network's mission is to advocate, recruit and enable healthcare services and professionals globally to implement and sustain effective tobacco management and cessation policies in accordance with the WHO Framework Convention for Tobacco Control (FCTC).

A systematic approach
Through a systematic approach based on a framework of eight Standards the Global Network supports individual member healthcare services and networks to integrate comprehensive action on tobacco and provide evidence based care to all tobacco users.
