Lessons From Pastoring Belfast City Vineyard - Harmony Smith

2026-07-20 73 min

Description & Show Notes

Kristian Reschke interviews Harmony Smith, co-lead pastor of Belfast City Vineyard, about the long road of leadership. Smith, raised in Vienna after her parents moved from Yugoslavia, describes meeting the Vineyard and encountering the Holy Spirit at university in Evanston, which redirected her into ministry and eventually to Belfast, where she and her husband Andy have served for 25 years. She shares how illness, severe pain, and therapy brought deep healing, greater compassion, and trauma awareness, and how leadership requires boundaries, slower rhythms, and being pastored by community. She reflects on COVID disruptions, losing members, buying a building in North Belfast, and a call to peacemaking amid sectarian wounds and current racism, and prays for DACH churches to be “good soil”, faithful with small seeds.
