Artist Room

Dominik Wagner
Normally you see musicians while they are on stage performing. But what goes on backstage, what do they talk about, what goes on in their brain, what kind of human beings are they?
Hi, I'm Dominik Wagner, double bass professor, performer and arranger, and this is Artist Room. Here I’ll be hanging out with some of the greatest musicians of our time, and you’ll get to know them, their ideas and projects together with me.
Andrei Ionita is one of the leading cellists of our time. He won countless prizes at the top cello competitions, amongst them the first prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition.
In this conversation he talks to Dominik about growing up in Rumania, the musical education there, his further studies, Cello playing and technique and many other subjects.
