In Episode #22 spricht Ben mit dem Notfallmediziner Dr. Ben McKenzie aus Victoria, Australien, über Anaphylaxie und Asthma, jenseits der konventionellen Therapie mit intramuskulärem Adrenalin. Dr. McKenzie musste 2021 auf tragische Weise seinen 15-jährigen Sohn Max an die Folgen einer Anaphylaxie verlieren. Seitdem widmet er einen Großteil seiner Karriere diesem Thema. Sein Ziel ist es, mehr Bewusstsein innerhalb der Notfallmedizin zu schaffen. Denn wie der Fall von Max McKenzie eindrucksvoll zeigt, gibt es auch im Jahr 2024 noch erheblichen Verbesserungsbedarf in der gezielten Behandlung schwerer Anaphylaxien.
